We collect only the minimum information necessary to deliver our service:

  • Newsletter email addresses — collected only when you explicitly subscribe. Used solely to send match analysis emails. Never sold or shared.
  • Anonymised analytics data — pages visited, session duration, referral source. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.

3. How We Use Your Information

Newsletter subscriber emails are used only to send GoalBrief match reports and analysis. Analytics data is used solely to improve the site. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. Our lawful basis for processing email data is your explicit consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)).

4. Cookies

GoalBrief uses essential cookies required for site functionality. We use optional analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the site. You may disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings at any time. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Newsletter subscriber data is retained for as long as you remain subscribed. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any of our emails, after which your data is deleted within 30 days. Analytics data is retained for 12 months.

  • Neon — database hosting (neon.tech/privacy)
  • Cloudflare R2 — file storage (cloudflare.com/privacypolicy)
  • Resend — transactional email (resend.com/privacy)
  • API-Football / API-Sports — football statistics data provider (api-football.com/privacy)
  • YouTube API Services — GoalBrief publishes videos via the YouTube API. Use of YouTube content is subject to YouTube's Terms of Service. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

7. About Our Content

Match analysis, articles, and videos on GoalBrief are generated algorithmically from licensed football statistics data. Content is not produced by human journalists. Football data is sourced from API-Football / API-Sports under a commercial licence.

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the UK or EU, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction or deletion of your data; withdraw consent at any time; and lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (ICO in the UK: ico.org.uk; relevant DPA in the EU).
