Fifa bans reusable water bottles from World Cup

June 4, 2026 · 07:21 1 min read 7 views
A last-minute change to Fifa's stadium code of conduct means fans cannot carry reusable water bottles into World Cup venues, sparking concerns about heat and access to drinking water.

The governing body had initially allowed empty, transparent, reusable plastic bottles inside stadiums but has now updated its code to prohibit them. Other items like bottles, cups, jars and cans are also banned to prevent the risk of injury if thrown, Fifa said.
